Using Delicious
I haven't used Delicious very much because I have found it awkward to use. Why doesn't it sort by relevance as Google does? If it did it would be much more user friendly. I tried searching for Calgary Transit and couldn't find it, except by a long round about route, (sorry, no pun intended)but it would only be there if someone had tagged it. There are definite advantages to tagging web sites for your own use although I tend to bookmark mine but maybe when my list is really, really long I'll switch to Delicious. Of course at that point I could share my bookmarks with family and friends which would be a useful thing to be able to do. Customers would find Delicious confusing but could if they wished set up their own tags and be able to access them on computers anywhere (now that might be a definite point in favour of Delicious). I certainly appreciate all the effort taken by those responsible for setting up the CPL tags but I have to admit I miss the old Best Web sites which I used a lot and found very user friendly.

Hmmm...I think you've just voiced the frustration of so many staff here at CPL. I agree...my first instinct is to go to Google. But there have been times in my life when I've found Delicious useful. I really like the fact that you can build up a "Network". My network consists mostly of libraries and librarians. Now those are some great sites!!
